North Dartmoor Garden Club – 28th September – Dormice

The North Dartmoor Garden Club season starts on Thursday 28th September 7.30pm in Belstone Village Hall. Our very own Robin Hill will be talking about the elusive dormouse.

What is special about dormice? You can find out in this talk about the hazel dormice on north Dartmoor in the Skaigh Valley, Belstone. Robin will focus on the general ecology of the species including food, habitat, nests, breeding, hibernation etc. and how our unpredictable climate is impacting on them. There will be information about the national dormouse monitoring programme and the surveying carried out in Belstone where 50 nest boxes have been positioned through the Skaigh Valley.

Annual membership remains at £7.00. Visitors are welcome £2 per visit.
