On the evening of Friday 10th January, Belstone held its farewell tribute to Steve Cook who retires from the Northmoor Team Ministry at the end of January.
An evening, entitled “The Life and Times of the Rev Stephen Cook”, hosted by Robin Hill, was a compilation of This is Your Life and Desert Island Discs when we had a wonderful insight into Steve’s past and how he, and his family, eventually came to Okehampton. We were joined by members of other villages that are cared for by Steve, so some 60 or so people had an evening of music chosen by Steve, some reminiscing and very much laughter.
Steve’s very last service will be on Sunday 26 January, in All Saints Church, Okehampton, at 10.30 am and everyone from the Northmoor villages are invited to join in. There is no service in Belstone, that day.
