On Sunday 5th October, in Belstone Village Hall, St Mary’s Church held their Last Afternoon of the Proms . . .
. . . with grateful thanks to The Bondleigh Barn Band, conducted by Richard Edwards, for all the splendid music, the ‘backstage crew’ of cake makers, ticket sellers, Raffle organisers and, of course the 75 or so member of the audience; a wonderful time was had by all!
Thank you, everyone, for helping us to make £850.00 towards keeping our beautiful, historic church building open. Also thank you to everyone who has contacted us since, with your wonderfully supportive comments about your enjoyment of the afternoon. It was a pleasure for us to share it with you
And lastly . . . an email received from one member of the audience: –
We attended yesterday and thought that was a wonderful afternoon. The Conductor was so expressive and brilliant as was the orchestra. The music was joyous as was the audience participation . . . A faithful rendition of the last night at the Albert hall as the proms used to be. Anne
