. . . Finding Our Roots – an Okehampton Exhibition 26th-31st October in the Museum of Dartmoor Life, Okehampton. Also there will be a Town Centre Exhibition Trail from 2nd-29th November, at 7 stations around the Town, beginning in Red Lion Yard .
The project ‘Telling Our Stories, Finding Our Roots’ is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Okehampton United Charities and Devon Development Education. For the last year, local volunteers in Tiverton, Okehampton and Bideford have been exploring the multicultural history of Devon through the life of their own towns, in order to share the rich and diverse history of their communities. The intention has been to uncover untold stories of residents past and present, and broaden and deepen our understanding of the history of these Devon towns.
