The Belstone Methodist Chapel was built in 1890/1. On 9 June 1924 the foundation stone of the Sunday School Room (now The Old School Tearoom) behind the chapel was laid by the Mayor of Exeter – see the newspaper report attached. This Sunday 9 June 2024, exactly 100 years later to the day, there will be a service (with tea and cakes) led by Rev Chris Jackson in the tearoom, which no doubt will refer to, and celebrate, this centenary. The service begins at 6pm and all are welcome.
