In 2020, during the Covid 19 pandemic, artist Jeannine Jourdan began a unique project at her studio in Belstone. Her idea was to paint portraits of as many of her fellow villagers as possible. By the time an exhibition of her work opened in May 2024 she had completed portraits of 70 villagers. An 18 minute film tells the story, with appearances and comments from many of those portrayed.
