
The next Garden Club meeting is Thursday 27th February 7.30pm in Belstone Village Hall.
Saul Walker, Head Gardener at Stonelands House, will be giving a talk entitled ‘Woodland Gardening: The Art of Growing in Shade’.
Saul has a very wide ranging knowledge of gardens and gardening. He first worked as a gardener for the National Trust at Antony House in Cornwall. and, following that he was accepted for the 3-year Kew Diploma of Botanical Horticulture at RBG, Kew. He is a member of the RHS Tender Plant Committee, trustee of The Hardy Plant Society and the Chartered Institute of Horticulture; he also co-hosts the Talking Heads Podcast with Lucy Chamberlain. As Head Gardener at Stonelands House he has responsibility for 10 acres.
Doors open at 7pm with tea and coffee available and an opportunity to chat with fellow members of the group. Membership is £15 annual subscription, or come as a guest for one night at £4 and find out more about the club.
Next month, 27th March, Jenny Evans will be giving a talk ‘Camouflage, Colour – the Moths in Your Garden and How to Look After Them’ . Then 24th April Professor Karl Ritz will be taking us on a ‘Subterranean Safari – Soil Health and Organisms’.
