Belstone Village Hall Thursday 26th September 7.30pm
The North Dartmoor Garden Club, this friendly group of garden lovers – but not necessarily gardeners – starts its autumn season this September. Regular monthly meetings are held from September to April, on the fourth Thursday of each month, 7.30pm, in Belstone Village Hall and we have a wide range of speakers on a variety of topics.
Our first meeting of the new season will be 26th September when Alan French, the popular nurseryman, well known to many for his stall in Okehampton on a Saturday morning, will be with us. He will be bringing a selection of plants, which he will be talking about and selling.
In October Mandy Barber, from ‘Incredible Vegetables, near Ashburton, will be giving a talk entitled ‘Creating a Diverse and Resilient Garden with Perennial Vegetables’. Other meetings cover a range of subjects including, Soil Health and Organisms, Wildlife Photography, Woodland Gardening, Weird and Wonderful in a Dartmoor Garden and Moths in the Garden.
We are also looking to provide some exciting garden visits for our members in 2025.
Members come from a wide area, including Okehampton, Hatherleigh, North Tawton, Chagford and, of course, all the local Villages. The club welcomes new members, guests and visitors, so why not come along? At £15 membership for the year, it is very good value for money. Visitors £4 for an evening.
