Sunday 15th February 11.00am to 4.00pm
It’s Snowdrop time again and the Children’s Hospice South West, Belstone and Area Friends Group will be hosting the popular Snowdrop Sunday at Andrews Corner, Skaigh Lane, Belstone, on Sunday 15th February from 11.00am until 4.00pm.
Situated at about 1000 feet on the northern slopes of Dartmoor, with views overlooking the Skaigh Valley, this is a garden full of unusual plants, just beginning to come to life at this time of year. Early crocus, dwarf daffodils and hellebores, along with the intoxicating scent of Daphne bholua add to the allure of this peaceful moorland garden.
For those galanthophiles among you, there are over 100 different varieties of snowdrop in the garden, many of which will be in flower at that time, with names like Heffalump, Sickle, Curly, Wasp, White Swan, Robin Hood, Modern Art and Wendy’s Gold. Some of which will be for sale. How could you resist the chance to take a peek!
As usual, there will be CHSW promotional goods for sale, as well as bacons baps, hot soup & bread, cheese scones, hot and cold drinks and cakes. Indoor space available for those who prefer to view the garden or consume refreshments in relative warmth! So we look forward to welcoming you when you help us, once again, to raise funds for this very worthy cause.
Well signed through the village, with parking in a nearby field. Dogs welcome. Wheelchair access to parts of the garden. Entry £6, children free.
