. . . A sign of spring in Belstone!
Friday 16th April . . . and Sarah Porterfield was the first to register having heard the cuckoo – at about 10.30am. The sound was coming from the valley, down by the river and then became very faint presumably as it flew towards Taw Marsh. Worth listening out for, from now on!
As an aside . . . We at Andrews Corner are having an extra, pop-up, opening for the National Gardens Scheme this coming Sunday, 18th April – with outdoor cakes and hot drinks, from 2-5pm, where you might be able to hear the cuckoo while you explore the garden or enjoy your refreshments.
The event is ticketed via the NGS website ngs.org.uk/view-garden/6137 or phone 01837840332 for details.
