Remember to Register to Vote, Photo ID and Vote.

On Thursday 4th May 2023, local elections for West Devon Borough Council and Belstone Parish Council will be held if there are enough candidates. At these elections, you will need to bring photo ID to be able to vote at a polling station.

Acceptable forms of photo ID include:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • Blue badge
  • Older Persons Bus Pass
  • Defence Identity card
  • Biometric immigration Document
  • PASS Card (Identity card bearing the Proof of Age Standards Scheme hologram)

You can still use your photo ID if it’s out of date, as long as it looks like you.

If you don’t have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document known as a Voter Authority Certificate. This can be applied for online at: www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate

There is help for those who cannot apply for photo ID online by phoning 01822 813604. You will need your national insurance number and date of birth.
