St Mary’s Belstone
Good news again for our Cash for Khazi project: we have been awarded another £3,000 towards our goal, by Garfield Weston. Along with a pledge of £2000 from the Claude Pike Trust, we are well on our way to having sufficient funds for the Church toilet. A huge thank you to everyone who has worked hard in fundraising and to all who have supported and attended the events. I will keep you posted as to the schedule of works.Spring is approaching, evident in the snowdrops and daffodils budding in the Churchyard. Lent lunches are currently underway which, if they follow the same path as previously, will be enlightening and a good lead up to Easter.
On 11th March, for Mothering Sunday, we plan to have a family service at St Mary’s at 9.30am. It would be lovely to have lots of Mums and their families attend.
For those who go to the Good Friday Service ‘An Hour at the Cross’ this will take place in Belstone Church at 12.00pm with Stephen Cook.
Easter Day falls on April 1st this year! (No wise cracks, please!) Everyone would be most welcome to join us for Holy Communion at 9.30am, followed by refreshments.
St Mary’s Sticklepath
Please come and join us on Sunday 11th March at 11am for Morning Prayer on Mothering Sunday.
After a short break, we are resuming the Morning Prayer service which will be held on the second Sunday of the month. The plan is to review this again in May and, if sufficient interest is expressed, we hope to be able to continue with this act of worship.

This series of four informal discussions will be held at The Devonshire Inn 12.30pm on the following Thursdays: 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th March. If you haven’t been along to one before then this is your chance to air a viewpoint or simply to listen, over a pasty and a pint. You will be very welcome! Please see the poster in this edition of The Beacon for further details.
Our loyal supporters, The Taw River Nibbles Club, have remembered St Mary’s with a kind and generous donation. This will be used towards the upkeep of the church and we are grateful for their continuing support.
