Life is all about a journey in time, and within our lives we make many journeys in many different directions. I wrote in October’s Beacon  about our Mission Action Plan, or MAP, which as a Church we have now adopted and hope to fully implement over the next three years. Planning and informing is important in life. We all hate uncertainty and we like to know where we are going and what we are doing. But there is one certainty in life and that is that time never stands still and amazingly it is that time once again when Christmas is almost upon us.

So here is our programme of events for the festive period.

Sunday 11th Sticklepath Carol Service 4.00 pm.

Saturday 17th Moor Harmony Concert in Belstone Church 5.30 pm- free entry.

Sunday 18th Belstone Carol and Crib Service 4.00 pm. The Posada figures of

Mary and Joseph who have started their tour of the village will end

their journey at the crib.

Monday 19th Carol Singing around the village collecting for St Petrocs. Meet at

the Tors at 6.00 pm for a swift one before returning for a not so swift

one.

Saturday 24th Christmas Eve. Belstone, Holy Communion 9.30 pm.

Sunday 25th Christmas Day. No service at Belstone, but Family Communion at

Sticklepath 10.30 am.

Sunday 1st January Belstone, Morning Prayer 9.30 am.

Sunday 8th January Epiphany. Meet at Village Hall 4.00 pm before grand

procession to Church. More about that next month.

We have just had the wonderful news of two local births. Arlo Norman Moppett, born to Andrew and  Helen weighing in at 7lbs 1 oz, a second grandson for John and Sandra and Eli Benjamin Symes born to Rob and Lisa and weighing in at the amazing weight of 11 lbs 11 oz. Congratulations to you all and a fitting reminder about life, journeys and the Good News that is to come. Happy Christmas.
