It was a gloomy old morning at 5.51am up at Watchet Hill flagpole on May Day this year, supposedly sunrise time. But there was no sign of the sun this year as Cogs and Wheels Ladies Morris began their annual dancing to celebrate Beltane and May Day, in fact visibility was down to a hundred yards. The mist lifted a bit to give ghostly views of Belstone Tor and Halstock as the group and their supporters made their way down to Nine Maidens to continue the dancing.
