Hopefully, we are now into more agreeable summer weather, so the family-friendly walk through some of the hidden gardens of Skaigh Lane has been rescheduled to this coming Sunday – 18th July
We meet at the memorial stone in the centre of the village at 2.00pm and the tour finishes around 4.30pm – in time for tea at the Tearoom!
If you haven’t already, you can book your place on the tour by contacting Ella at
There will be plenty of opportunities to talk about wildlife in our gardens and how we can encourage a greater diversity, from grass snakes and dormice to the variety of butterflies, beetles and many other minibeasts that inhabit our compost heaps and wood piles. Have you seen a dormouse or tawny owl box? Find out what permaculture is all about and the ecological benefits of hedge laying. See also how trees, ponds and hedgerows can all help to increase the diversity of the wildlife in our gardens, with even quite small steps making a difference.
Look forward to seeing you there!
