There has been a very encouraging response to the Reverse Advent Calendar project. The main details are summarised below but please get in touch with Joanna Currie 01837 840270 if you would like more information. Please spread the word to your friends and neighbours and consider clubbing together with others to join us in spreading a bit of Christmas cheer in trying times.
Each household/group of people puts one item a day in a box or Bag for Life from the 1st-20th December.
Boxes/bags to be delivered to Belstone Village Hall between 9am-12 noon on 20th December.
Boxes and bags will then be distributed, to people in need, in the local area by East Street Community Kitchen, 3 East St, Okehampton.
If you cannot bring your donation on 20th please contact Joanna who will arrange collection.
Items to consider might include Staple foods (pasta, tuna, cereal, UHT milk, biscuits, mayonnaise, rice, tea, oil, rice pudding, custard, jam, coffee, mixed herbs, stock cubes), toiletries, cleaning products and a few treats such as chocolate or fancy biscuits. Certain perishables will also be ideal (e.g. apples, clementines, vegetables) and vouchers from Luxtons, Martins, supermarkets, pharmacies, etc.
