APM – Highways Report 2024-25

Camp sign has been ordered for the sign at the very end of the A30 Eastbound off slip nr entrance to Country Lanes Garden Centre.
The other existing Camp sign on the junction nr Whitehouse Services is deemed to be clear enough and this sign is also full so a redesigning exercise would have to take place.

Surface Dressing Works – Tongue End Cross to Eagle House
Last summer this road was patched and is now due to be surfaced dressed.
This has been programmed btwn May and September 2025.
Advance signs will appear 7 days prior to works commencing with exact dates and an estimate of 1-3 days to complete
The surface dressing process is weather dependent so is subject to short notice changes.
Your cooperation with this matter is appreciated.

Gate at cattle grid btwn Tor Down House and Cleave House.
This gate blew off in one of the storms early this year and a replacement gate has been installed.
Unfortunately, at present the gate fouls the ground making it harder for horse riders to negotiate without dismounting as opening width is reduced.
Can I ask that riders please dismount and lead horses through gate until we can raise the height of the gate.

Please keep reporting blocked drains and safety defect criteria potholes via our online web pages or via Customer Call Centre 0345 155 1004.
This is the best way to track each issue.

During the summer I’m going to inspect as many roads as I can in my large patch including Belstone to recommend surface treatments.
As has been the case for several years now, we have more rough road surfaces than budget at present so please don’t expect immediate actions.

For any landowners that have drainage outlets flowing from/off the Highway, can I please ask that these are kept clear please.
As it’s bird nesting season, the window of opportunity to trim hedges is closed now, but can I ask that landowners trim back their highway fronted hedges as soon as the season is over.
Your cooperation with these matters is much appreciated.

Kind Regards
