Planning Matters 25263 Application – Beacon View. Ref 0135/25 Demolition of extensions and replacement with one and two storey extensions to rear and side with new access and driveway to parking on site
This is the third application for this property, the first two being refused by DNPA. Concerns were expressed that the application again sought to make a large house from a small cottage and that the driveway alterations were unnecessary given the existing access. The architect explained that a meeting had been held with the Planning office and that these revised plans were in accordance with that discussion / met criteria.
DECISION – BPC object to the application on the grounds of 1) the proposed extension is not considered subservient to the original dwelling and is over the 30% rule and 2) the urbanisation of the driveway and resultant loss of 2 village centre parking spaces when there is already usable access to the property.
