Parish Council Minutes – July 2018
BELSTONE PARISH COUNCIL
Draft Minutes of the Planning Meeting held on Wednesday 31st July 2018
at 7.30pm in the Village Hall Meeting Room
Present: Michael Ash (Chairman), Ann Norman (Vice Chairman), Paul Boyce,
Elizabeth Emmerson, Susan Norrish and Kate Little (Clerk)
In Attendance: David Emmerson
1. Apologies: Jon Pike and Peter Cooper
2. Declarations of Interest: None
3. Planning Items:
(i) Burl, Skaigh Lane, DNPA ref 0376/18 – Replacement dwelling with garage/garden store building
Resolved: To object on two grounds:
- Whilst the existing bungalow is of no design merit, the proposed replacement does not reflect the design characteristics of an ancient upland village in the National Park
- When viewed from the other side of the Skaigh Valley, the new dwelling will appear as an incongruous feature in the landscape.
The Parish Council carefully considered the letter of objection received from the prospective owner of Foxes Holt, the neighbouring property. However, the members did not feel an objection based on the impact of the proposed garage on Foxes Holt was warrented.
There being no other business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.30pm
