Welcome to Belstone Community Website’s newest partner – Greener Belstone – a new village initiative for green issues.
A group of Belstone residents have set up Greener Belstone, an apolitical village initiative which aims to promote sustainability and tackle climate change, alongside protecting and increasing our local biodiversity.
Covid-restrictions permitting, Greener Belstone will promote green issues by:
- Providing a hub of useful sustainability information and ideas
- Organising community initiatives and events for Belstone
- Working with other local groups on green issues
More information on the group can be found on their page which can be accessed via the Visiting and Services page or directly by clicking the button below

Green resolutions for the New Year
Many of us are concerned about climate change and would like to reduce our impact on the environment and live more sustainably. The start of a New Year can be a good time to make a green resolution. We’ve put together a list of ideas for green resolutions and, where possible, an estimate of the potential carbon savings which cam be seen on our page. We would like to hear about any green changes you have made as a result of coronavirus that you hope to be able to continue. If you have any ideas that you like to share then please email so that we can add these to the list.
Logo competition and Artwork
Greener Belstone’s logo was created by a Devon artist following an art competition organised with the Belstone Youth Group. The young villagers produced some excellent work on the themes of sustainability and the environment in Belstone. Congratulations to Harry Bisson, whose drawing was chosen by the artist as the inspiration for the logo. You can see all the artwork in the Gallery.
