B. Collection pot at Tors Inn

Dicky at the Tors Inn has offered to put a collection pot out in the pub, for members of the community to contribute towards the costs of the Village Car Park.

Cllr Norrish has spoken to Chris Walpole who would be interested in being the Internal Auditor. To resolve to appoint Chris Walpole as Internal Auditor.

The Belstone Commoners’ Association have responded to the Parish Council’s update with suggestions from the Highways agency. “Commoners remain doubtful of the benefits of this, and wish to consider alternatives. They will look into the options.”

A. Removal of Grass (Resolution 2021/22-47B)

The clerk has approached Dartmoor National Park Authority, The Tors Inn and The Old School Tearoom for donations.

2021/22-87 Planning Rew Meadow (Resolution 2021/22-67)

Nick Savin of Dartmoor National Park Authority has written to say that the new building at Rew Meadow does not breach planning control. It is classed as permitted development. (Email)

2021/22-94 Parish Council Logo (Resolution 2021/22-51B)

Cllr Pike has provided some possible logos. Simon Hill has offered to tidy the agreed one up. To decide which logo to use.

2021/22-95 Dog Poo Signs (Resolution 2021/22-57)

The clerk has produced and laminated some signs. The Belstone Commoners’ Association whilst sceptical of the usefulness of such signs have no objection. They request that such signs be sturdy (e.g. mounted on board) with sturdy attachments such as cable ties. They would like to check the design and wording; to save time, they have delegated authority on approval to the Chair, Michael Reddaway, who could liaise with Michael Ash over this.

Following approval, volunteer needed to mount and attach the signs.

2021/22-96 Mobile Booster Scheme

There is a scheme for people to buy a booster to improve their indoor mobile signal, using a voucher from Connecting Devon and Somerset.

2021/22-97 Memorial Bench

Rachel Ledger, an Exeter resident, has requested to install a bench in memory of her husband who used to enjoy visiting and walking around Belstone, from his youth to his death in May. There is a vacant space in the Pound to the Left of the Gate.
To resolve to permit Rachel to place a memorial bench in the village.

2021/22-98 St Mary’s Church Belstone Letter and Email

Belstone Church PCC would like feedback on their ideas to use the church as a community resource. They also asked which authority they should approach to put a cycle rack against the wall of Church cottages.

2021/22-100 West Devon Super Links Meeting

There will be a virtual West Devon Super Links meeting on Tuesday 7th December at 6-7 pm. At the Belstone Annual Parish Council meeting on 25th May 2021 the minutes state when setting representation on other bodies – “Eastern Links Cttee: Cllrs will take it in turns to attend. Theresa Weaver to attend the next one.”
